Swing-Kids' arch nemesis Social Dance Club forwarded this to me, and it seemed pertinent:

BYUSA to SDC and, presumably, us:

Thank you club presidents for being so willing to help us out with Final Chill. Final Chill is a dance activity with a Paris theme that will be held from 8:30-11:30pm. The dress is casual. The main dance will be held in the WCS ballroom and the terrace will be open for beginning dance lessons. There will be a microphone and speaker system already in the terrace. This would be a good opportunity to expose students to dance activities here on campus. We'd like to have a few volunteers from your clubs come and teach a lesson geared towards those that have never danced in your particular style of dancing. The time slots would be as follows: Social Dance Club: 9-9:45, Club Style: 9:45-10:30, and Swing Kids: 10:30-11:15. We'd like to ask that you finish perhaps a few minutes early so that the next club can get set up and ready. My email is lefevret@nm.byu.edu or erkan7@gmail.com and my phone number is (402) 850-9222. I hope I said all I needed to have said, if not contact me. Again, thank you for your help, Tyler LeFevre

Hey, so there was an impromptu Lindy bomb in the terrace the other day. Towards the end of the TubaChristmas concert at around 12:40 or so the Tubas took a break and featured a Dixieland band. It was my good fortune to be seated with Jamie and Melissa, who danced for one song before taking off.

I thought I was left to my own devices, but a Sophie who has been to lessons a few times in past semesters hopped out of the Tuba ensemble and danced the remaining two songs with me.

And that's how we flash lindy-bombed the Terrace with live music.

I hear social dance lab is on Wednesday. If anybody's bored, we can go lindy-bomb the foxtrots.

A fascinating announcement on the Social Dance Club bulletin:

    Social Dance Club

Glen will be teaching us Blues Swing. So come learn a non-syllabus dance! NOTE: We will meet in room 3220 this week. That is upstairs.Thank you to everyone for all of their support with our dance on Friday, it was a huge success!

Apparently Glen will be teaching blues there.
