Sorry, laziness just hit me and i didn't look for the old thread.

I just thought it would be good to post this on facebook also:

I have a friend that is looking for people to use his dance floors, so I have 3 questions that I'm hoping to get as much input as posible about.

    1) What does everyone think about having a dance studio for swing in provo?

    2) What price is the maximum amount that people would be willing to pay?

    3) What is the best night of the week to have swing dances there if we decide to do them?

If everyone could get back to me ASAP I'll be able to determine if it is worthwhile for my friend, and get the wheels moving if it is posible. I'm trying to make this a large effort, I have friends at UVSC also investigating if the students there would be interested, so please let me know asap.
    Thanks.

    2) What price is the maximum amount that people would be willing to pay?

I just realized how much this question bothers me. Does it bother anyone else?

It's like having a client say "I have $10,000 to spend on this project, how much will it cost me?" and you say "$10,000." It doesn't come across right.

Maybe it's specifically "maximum amount" that bugs you. Perhaps what they should have said is "please describe how different potential pricing schemes could affect your usage patterns of this venue. Try to include specific figures." And we could all say how often we'd go in terms of price, and include all kinds of standard deviations and crap.

Someone else is getting involved. He posted on the facebook group "swing kids". Can't remember who though.

    You mean Randall Brown?

    Randall Brown:

Hey, I was talking to the Owner of the new Nina's NY Pizza, and he says he's got a band lined up to do a dance in the coming weeks. He told me they usually do Lindy style dances (saw my swing kids shirt is why he brought it up), so I gave him my card.

He's gonna call me when they've got specifics lined up and I'll pass the word along.

I talked to that guy too, back just before the place opened. He seemed to be pretty cool, actually.

ahahahaha! I think I've expounded on this kind of thing enough already over on swingutah, though it wasn't specifically about pricing schemes. Hmmmm......
