    The Daily Universe reports:

    BYU NewsNet:

Dance With Me, a new dance club and studio, which took over Café del Sol's previous space, opened its doors July 26 with a remodeled building and a revamped style and sound.

Dance With Me, located at 1175 N. Canyon Road, Provo, will incorporate salsa, ballroom, meringue, jazz and country dancing. Admission is $7 a person or $10 a couple.

Now, I doubt anyone would go to a club to socially participate in the Broadway-powered cyborg abomination that goes by the name of "Jazz Dance" these days, raising the question:

Does this development foreshadow anything for the future of Lindy Hop in Provo?

    nope

    Fine, let me rephrase that:

What would it take to bring the Revolution to bourgeois dance-fascists and oppressed proletariat comrades of Canyon Road?

Actually I doubt it, as Utah law stipulates that all establishments (restaurants excluded) that serve alcohol must be "private clubs for members". This fact, combined with being located literally a stone's throw away from BYU campus, means it is more likely to be strictly a dance venue. Though you can always BYOB! [Emoticon not found]

  1.

The DU article says the establishment is "completely alcohol and smoke free".

SEVEN bucks? A little steep for the Utah County crowd? It's definitely too much for what might be a mediocre dancing experience. I'm willing to keep an open mind otherwise though.

That's some expensive real estate right next to campus. They need to charge something to cover overhead.

Also interesting to note, but most probably meaningless in the long run is an advertisement in the top right corner of page 2 of today's Universe:

    BLUESJAM Tonight! Free Admission
Listen to live blues, jam with the host band,
or bring your own blues group!
    8pm Royal Palace Theater,
    165 N. Main, Spanish Fork.
