So the BYU 1st stake has the KMB scheduled for this Saturday night. Cross that off as a possible location for our opening social.
Also are there beginner lessons tomorrow night?
Darn BYU 1st Stake!!!!
We will be in 270-278 RB. And no, there are no beginner lessons tonight. But there are team tryouts and letter writing for those interested in a free membership.
I kept this email from last semester. I think most of it applies still. If not, I'm not an official club rep, so you can't yell at me for trying to be helpful.
Buzz:But I bring good news, especially for all you swingers out there strapped for cash! You can get a membership and not have to pay a single penny! How is this possible, you ask? It is simple: you write letters.
We have had this program before, but many times it has come too late to make a difference, since you already had bought a membership. Not so this year! Here’s the deal. If you write a letter according to the guidelines I will include below and bring it to the dance this Saturday between 8 and 9:30 pm, you will get in free! We will be checking to make sure that your letter has followed the guidelines. We will then take your letter and get it approved. We will then be having a couple letter writing sessions (time and place TBA) next week where you will copy your approved letter 5 times. After you hand us the five copies, we will hand you a free membership with a guest pass, just in time for the opening social!
I have attached a few sample letters to this email as a general idea of how to follow these guidelines. A free membership for writing a few letters? Can life get any better? I submit that it can not!

Final Hints
Make the letter personal

If you write about a scholarship, don’t focus on the fact that you don’t have to work
Yes, thank you!
I was trying to get that email, but I guess it was too long and didn't get archived or something or other.
Anyway, this is still true! Write your first letter and if Makenna approves it, you will get into the dance this Saturday free. We will then get all the letters approved (last date to hand in a letter is Monday January 23) As soon as we get those letters back, we will be holding letter writing sessions so that you can copy your letter 5 times. The moment you hand us the 5 copies, we hand you a free membership w/ guest pass (and a free t-shirt if you have your membership card from last semester!)
So email your letter to SKCAnnualFund@gmail.com so that Makenna can approve it before the first dance. Or write it and bring it to the dance on Saturday to get it approved. Or come and write your letter between 7-8:30pm Saturday before the dance. Whatever floats your boat.
I KNEW YOU WOULD BE SAYING THAT!!! I thought darn on our little stake too. I'm a member of the first stake and when I saw it on our announcements on monday.. i actually groanded out loud in sacrament meeting... oops!!! Dont hate us-

Wow! Last night was amazing! BYU had a huge turn out for the lessons. I think they had close to 200 people.
That's a pretty accurate guess. I won't have the official numbers until Wednesday or so. Thanks to everybody who came out!
Yeah... this year is going to be Sweet!!... what is bringing all this new energy to BYU?
Well, I hear that Swing Team has some sweet coaches [Emoticon not found]

ken. you can't just unmask a man of mystery like that.
how much would it suck if cat woman told everyone that bruce wayne was really batman?
Hey it's the shim-sham in the MOA! And I'm in that picture! Weird. I'm never in dancing related pictures. Unless they're really awful pictures that should never ever be posted online. Ken.
That's an old pic. I was a non-dancing wet behind the ears RM when that took place.
That was such a fun opening social. Sadly, however, they have told us that we are never invited back into the MOA because they are worried that the loud sound might damage the art [Emoticon not found]
