The Salt Lake Jitterbugs are the opening act for an internationally know Israel folk dance team. We would love to invite you to come and enjoy the show. Just tell the people at the ticket booths or those checking tickets that you are a swing dancer and you can watch the performance for FREE!

    Date: Monday June 11th
    Time: 7:00 pm
Place: Capital Theater in SLC (200 S. and 50 W)
Price: Free (unless you want to make a donation of $8.00)

Come and fill the seats so we have a full house!

If you are in a dance class that requires you to watch some off campus performances this would be a great one to go to and write a paper on.

This was a great event. It was so cool to see the Israel Folk Dancers. Their costumes were so bright. There were probably 18 of them. They are troopers... They had just flown in from Israel and practised all day to do the performance that night. They were really nice. It was fun to perform with them in such a cool theater.

  4.

That was fun! They were really good!

It was announced at the skillet on Friday night. They even had full color fliers.

She didn't go to the Skillet on Fri. And, me being the bad roomie that I am, I didn't bring a flier home with me. Bad M'shimmy! [Emoticon not found]

    SpecialK:

that's all fine and dandy for people who go to the skillet. what about people who don't go to the skillet that often? if you want lots of people to attend an event, you don't advertise in just one place and on one night. fliers are fine, but put them out for more than one dance (if you know about it that far in advance), talk it up online, text people (who won't freak out about textspam), word of mouth, etc.

my point? contrary to popular belief, i don't live in a hole, and i didn't hear about this at all. to anyone who didn't know better, it seems as though they didn't want very many people to come.

definitely one of the sadder stories i've heard today [Emoticon not found]

But seriously, that is good advice for promoting anything, big or small. It even works for church activities! =D
