    Hey butt face... I love to Jive..... However not ballroom Jive but Rockabilly Jive... or Country Jive I should call it.

    As far as I knew, Jive is heavily stylized East Coast/Triple Swing. Am I wrong?

    Personally it's the sort of thing I avoid because it builds bad habits for my swing dancing. On the other hand, it's always good to try new things and get different perspectives on dance.

    jessa darling. you have to understand that we're not making fun of everything that is jive. i'm sure rockabilly jive is great. i've never done it, but i love the music [Emoticon not found]

    what we're making fun of here one specific ballroom dance that has appropriated the name "jive". Terry Monaghan doesn't like their use of the word, but the fact remains that this is how they choose to identify the dance. if you noticed, i called it "the jive" rather than jive. kinda like if someone says they dance "the swing" you can pretty much guarantee that they don't swing dance...

    LOL I really wasn't arguing... I just really wanted to show you guys Rockabilly Jive. A bunch of us went out on Tuesday after the Blues class and we talked about it and they were interested to know what it looked like. Then I came on and I saw that post and I was like.. Hmmm I should post videos for people that are interested

    Ooo and Speckial K... this dance will not hinder your Lindy at all. It has actually improved mine. It is not Lindy at all but it is great to dance rockabilly jive to faster music kinda like balboa!
