AIR STEP CLASS RULES: No exceptions!!!!
GIRLS: no belts, no jeans, and if you wear a dress, wear bloomers or biker shorts or sliders if you don't want people to see you underwear. This has been an issue before!
GUYS: you can wear jeans but not recommended.
EVERYONE: Wear the kinds of shoes that are good for running such as a good lace up, tennis shoes, basketball keds things of that sort. Please no heels and no bare feet. You will be getting grass stains on your clothes because we will be teaching this out side, since grass is softer than wood, or title, or concrete. Partners are required for this particular class. If there are people that want to double up like two girls to one guy, or two guys to one girl this is okay, BUT NO MORE THAN TWO. Air steps are a trust issue so it is important to get partners you trust throwing you around. *If any one comes to our classes and does not feel like doing one air step they do not have to, and if one of the partners does and one does not, we will see if someone else will do that air step with you. There will also be a waver to sign saying we are not liable for any physical or mental injury.
When you say no jeans, would it be better to dress up or down? Are you telling me to wear sweats or nicer stuff?
Good question. I'll try to explain this the best I can, but Flatfoot or Rosebud might do a better job since they requested this.
We are not creating a dress code, jeans just get in the way-- or sometimes get caught (ouch!)-- when doing a lift you've never done before.
We also recommend that you don't wear clothes you would feel sad if you got grass stains on them, cuz' you just might! Wear clothes that are comfortable, wouldn't get in the way, and you wouldn't mind getting dirty in. Sweats are good.
If you choose to wear a skirt, PLEASE wear something underneath so that people attending the workshop don't get more than they paid for. [Emoticon not found]
shame I'm already booked this weekend. . .
SpecialK:shame I'm already booked this weekend. . .
You woulda had your sweats all ready to go otherwise huh!
As long as I got a carpool together. At $2.80 for gas and 30 MPG that's $17 round trip from SLC or $24 from Provo, I certainly don't want to ride up by myself.
Flatfoots_Rosebud:My suggestion is one of those baby tees that you can get from either Shade or Downeast Outfitters and a comfortable pair of pants that can stay on without a belt.
The reason that Flatfoot and I don't recommend jeans is because it gives bare skin terrible scratches and burns when rubbed.
I hope Flatfoot doesn't mind my saying, but I think that some of the lifts that we are teaching are:
*Snatch 01:26
**trapeze at 00:59 (Todd Yannacone & Frida Sigerdahl) and 01:18 (Ria DiBiase and Nick Williams)
*Basic pancake (with a hope we can move it to Waterfall) at 00:46
**Arm Flip at 01:40and more...
*Frankie's name for it is snatch, but I think it's more widely known as fireman's catch http://youtube.com/watch?v=mTg5V2oA_hY
** http://youtube.com/watch?v=LAAAV7BB1HU&mode=related&search=
Mmmm.... wish I was coming...
someone tell Jill or Flatfoot to TRY GIVING MORE THAN 3-4 DAYS NOTICE DURING FINALS WEEK IF THEY WANT PEOPLE TO SHOW.
thanks.
Better little notice than no notice. I've heard it was spontaneous kind of thing.
I'm grateful that Logan considers us in their plans and activities. I just wish gas were a lot cheaper and there were better alteratives to connect the state. We are facing severe health hazards from all the air pollution from driving mostly empty cars.
But any advance notice wouldn't change the fact that I'm going to a wedding reception of some good friends tomorrow afternoon. Sometimes friends and family pre-empt dancing, as Buzz has shown.

Sundberg rarely does a thing like this spurt of the moment, from what I've known of him.
who told you it was a spontaneous thing.
I just want to give 5 stars to Ben and Jill's workshops this last Saturday. I am amazed at how they were able to get EVERYONE doing incredible stuff! They presented it professionally, and safely, and it was tons of fun. I would definitely recommend them for anyone who is interested in private lessons on aerials. Thanks to Jazzy J for coming out and participating in the workshops. It was great to have him out in Logan again.
As far as advance notice goes, we were just providing this workshop for our club members. Yes, it was a last minute thing. We told BYU almost as soon as we told our own club, but at the same time, we weren't too worried about BYU or anyone else showing up. The classes were just the perfect size. Everyone had a good time and we got tons of compliments. Mission accomplished.
Logan has produced successful events over and over this year. I'm sure that when people complain, they're just frustrated about missing such fantastic events. As far as communicating them to the rest of Utah, we haven't been sub-standard compared to everyone else announcing their events. However, I would like to thank everyone who has expressed their doubts about our organizational skills. It pushed us further to really be on the ball, and to prove something. It's a shame that few people came up to take note of how on the ball we are. Since I have less than a week as president, I feel no inhibition to say that Logan has a fantastic dance scene, and I am stoked to see thrive under Ben's leadership this next year.
If you really are heartbroken about missing this, I suggest you talk to Ben and Jill about it. I'm sure they'd love to do another workshop sometime in the future, maybe even out in SLC or Provo so that you don't have to drive a long distance to see them, but that's just me talking. Ask them. . . .

Good call, the info was gathered indirectly. Based on my minimal experience planning events in Logan, we'll just say I had feeling that this was thrown together last minute [Emoticon not found]
