All right, so here's what's going down: May 11th-13th, Tucson, AZ, 4 instructors, 3 nights of dancing, 2 live bands, for 1 hot event...and its Arizona so you know it will be =).
California is sending some of its best to show Tucson what it's all about and I think you all should get in your happy traveling cars and represent. I know Tucson would be lucky to have you guys and I would sure like another excuse to see you all!

There will be two tracks of classes during the day on Saturday and Sunday. One will be for beginning/intermediate dancers and the other will be for Intermediate to Advanced. Both tracks will feature classes in Blues and Lindy.
For instructors we've got Minn Vo and Angel Jenkins from LA to give you some sweet sweet lindy hop and for your hot hot Blues instruction we've got none other than Cid Galicia and Brenda Collins.
Live bands have been announced for both Friday and Saturday night and we're working on securing a third for Sunday night.
Friday night is going to feature a swing/blues band direct from Lousiana: Dan Sanchez and the kings of Pleasure.
Saturday night will be none other than Tucson Swings! An awesome 15 piece big band from right here in Tuscon.
Tucson is a growing scene with lots of enthusiasm and there's a lot of excitement building for this event. These kids may still be a little wet behind the ears, but something like this is exactly what they need to inspire them and show them what this dance thing is all about.

If you need a ride and plan on going I could give you a ride. I haven't registered yet just because I need to know who else would be going so I know if I will be going or not. I have never been to a big event and I need to go have some fun before school starts again in the fall. Let me know what you think. I could fit others as well. I also have friends down in Tucson that we might be able to stay at their house.

Guys, we don't want to take my car. It's a truck, and it has a stick shift and a slow oil leak. And I think the air conditioner's broken. Terrible for road tripping. But yeah, my spot in car #1 is in some doubt, so I'm currently anxious to hear volunteers for car #2.

We're putting all the final pieces into place after running into a few
obstacles. We've finalized the saturday night venue at the YMCA with
Tucson Swings. The dance was intended to be held at the University of
Arizona Grand Ballroom, but they canceled on us last minute.Just a few notes:
A Volunteer list is going out in the next day or so once I've decided
exactly how many people we're going to need. Let me know if you're
interested and I'll make sure you are compensated for your time. Reply
back with 'Lindy Bomb Volunteer' in the subject line so I know who's
interested and I'll make sure you guys get first dibs on the sign up
sheet. Spots may still be open on the day of. activities.If you're a local attendee who's interested in hosting, please let me

How was it? Pics?
It was better than anything has ever been, by virtue of the fact that it had me at it. I'm sure other events have their redeeming qualities, but being there was infinitely better than missing it.
So, yeah, I don't have much to compare it to, but everybody seemed to agree that blues workshops with Brenda were a highlight.
Pictures are not yet. My camera runs on film, so I'll want to finish the roll before I develop it. I don't particularly remember Erin, Emily, Scott, Alan, or Lexi having a camera. Kristi (one of our hostesses) had a camera, and was snapping pics pretty consistently. I'll have to get in touch and ask for doubles.
