Supposidly Silvia Skylar is choosing to teach her classes based on attendance of the dance tonight. I don't see how dance attendance and wanting to go to a class have anything to do with eachother but those who are interrested in classes with Silvia should go to Studio 600 tonight. (Jan. 16th)
$10.00 for a group class and $34.00 for 4 classes.
Wed. Studio 600 7:30pm (beginner)?
Are you saying that's happening tonight, or you'd like it to happen on a Wednesday?
supposedly it's happening tonight. but that might change to a more reasonable day of the week.
Wednesday is the reasonable day of the week for me!
Silvia Skylar will be teaching the lessons before the dances on Tues. nights at Studio 600 starting this coming Tues. Feb. 6th. Her lessons will go from 8-9pm then the dance will be from 9-12pm.
Cost is still $4.00 if you come to the lesson or before 9:30pm and $6.00 if you come after 9:30pm.
this is one of those things Im sure many BYU swing kids would love to go to but it conflicts with our club night and both team practices sorry if you arent getting the attendence you are looking for. club night starts at 7 gos tell 8:30 team pratices have been going from about 8:30-10:30
Yes. I agree. I'm afraid that while Studio 600 continues to be on a Tuesday night, you will see very little support if any from BYU and it's regulars.

I would love to go but A and B team have team practice that night it cuts out a very active 20+ people who are involved with the teams.

Ha! Beat ya to it Ron!!

Like I said. Plus I had a group of about 8 people pretty much committed to do an 8:30 pm class on Wednesday's if Sylvia was willing, but then we heard she'd rather do a workshop on a Saturday sometime, so I bagged my efforts.
Do you think we could maybe have Sylvia teach on a weekend. Have a little workshop. We could invite all the USU dancers and SLC and have it at BYU or maybe SLC would be easyer for everyone to get to. Id say do it in March or april so people have time to recover from everything we have done latly. By recover Im talking about filling our wallets with money again. By the end of this week I will have spent about 250-300$ on music exchanges and weekly dances scence the beggining of the year.
in case any of you provolones ever wondered if the drive for the $4 lesson is worth it: it is. so do it sometime.
Someday... someday.
ppfffftt!!!.. whatever dude!! you wont go
Uh oh... do we see a little Sultan trying to reemerge?
i've been hanging around the wrong crowd... it's all the utahn's i must get out of here!
traci:in case any of you provolones ever wondered if the drive for the $4 lesson is worth it: it is. so do it sometime.
Its not that we wonder if its worth going its making the time to go that is the hard part.
yeah... I would go... but by the time i get out of rehersal its almost 11... i get to slc at 12 and i don't wanna pay 6 bucks to dance for 40 minutes
Ah, the graduated life. . . I have all the time in the world. . .
Unless that time is between 11PM and 6PM any day but saturday. That 5 hours between though. . .
. . . but $4 is totally worth it. It's just a shame there aren't many people to dance with afterwards. If only some of my friends from Provo were there.
Better than college life, when time occupation reaches saturation. Unless your an English major I guess.
Update,
Studio 600 is over so Silvia is considering teaching before the Skillet on Fridays and a monthly workshop. Would you guys be able/interrested in coming? It would be an additional $3.00 for her class.
1. yes, i'm down with paying extra, if boys come
2. tuesday swing at studio 600 is no more? interesting.
Dang!!! That sucks... that was a great venue... maybe someone should try and revive it somehow... someday
Too bad we could never get it moved to Wednesdays.
As for $3 extra, no one was coming to dance, so $4 was steep. Here I know she's getting the whole thing and I'm getting an incredible bargain.
We might even see some Provo peeps.
$3 is a STEAL. I'm SO there. What's the topic and skill level? Or does it just depend on who shows up? (I'm very sure I'll learn TONS no matter what!) [Emoticon not found] [Emoticon not found] [Emoticon not found] [Emoticon not found] [Emoticon not found]
Oh and when will it be? YAY!
This is all still need to be confermed... but she would be teaching to more of an int/adv. level.
I would hope so. Though a beginner class (ie fundamentals) would probably still be fun to go to.
