If swing dancers really learn some solid form of the shim sham, it'll help their lindy hop. 'course same goes for any jazz steps, but if the learning of the shim sham is combined with the history of the set of steps, then I think it helps even more.

I didn't think you had much time for directions on Shim Sham. Sweet Home Chicago you do, and a good steal dance can be socially healthy for a scene. Aside from the itchy directions, I don't have a huge problem with them.
there's a version of the shim-sham song with Frankie Manning calling out the directions during the second half of the song...
