Good news everybody!
Want to go to ULX (of course you do)? Well here's your chance to go cheaper than everybody else! Saturday, October 14, a committee from ULX, Inc. will be visiting the our dance and offering you all a chance to register $10 cheaper than the normal preregistration. Don't miss out! This will be your only chance to get this special price!!!
Of course, if you want to pay more... [Emoticon not found]
College Price on the 14th - $45
Preregistration - $55
After prereg deadline - $65
See you all there!
Did this last year.... will be doing it again this year.... [Emoticon not found]
Wow. I could take that $10 bucks and buy a ti-shirt
Yep... except that T-shirts won't be available for another couple of weeks.
bah.... details.....
But the T-shirts are pretty sweet. If you buy one at the college drive, I will make sure you get your shirt as soon as they are in.
We've sooo got the hookups with buzz behind the steering wheel. [Emoticon not found]
Small Problem here. The home page says there is no dance Saturday night. When are we having the ULX sign up drive? Since the no dance message has been up for a couple of days most of the damage is done whether we have a dance or not. And we really should be advertising for ULX on the main page (it will be yet another months off event) and at Friday's booth if we are even having the sign up drive.
Lots of people will miss our Friday night live dance (Last years seemed half as full as a regular dance, granted we had one the next night). The main goal of the sign up drive is encouraging the student impulse buy. If that's not a news item on the main page, then no one will have their check books to make the payment. What sort of solution do people have?
I'll be at the U dance tonight, and I'll let the ULX folks know that they should come another week so there can be more advertising (and so that people will actually be there).
Both the email, the website, and the flyers at the booth tomorrow will be advertising the dance tomorrow night. Additionally, we announced at the lessons tuesday that the dance was this friday. I'm pretty sure we'll be ok.
So will we advertise ULX registration at tomorrows booth for tomorrow night?
I'm not connected with the ULX commitee, but if someone gives me something to advertise, I can arrange that. My point is that we are/have been advertising the dance tomorrow, so your assertion that there probably won't be many people there is not valid.
Due to FNL, and the lack of an official Saturday dance, this drive will be postponed until Saturday, October 21, 2006.
Phew!
This way we can spread the word on via email and at the booth on Friday.
Question - has any of this been mentioned to Chuck? It might be good if he knew. I´m pretty bummed about there not being a dance tonight, though.
I heard there's a dance at Jared's house with a lead from Tampa, FL and a follow from Seattle, WA visiting.
If Chuck don't know about this, then he needs to get with it! Seriously, I've been telling him for months now to appoint an official news brief writer -- someone to read all the forums and give him updates on the latest happenings.

Has any of what been mentioned to chuck? That we were going to have a dance last night, and not one tonight? About the ULX drive? Be specific.

he could get them to schedule appointments and answer fan mail too. that way he wouldn't have to take his mind off of the more pressing of his presidential responsibilities.

Hey, you'd be surprised at how much fan mail one recieves. It's a popular position.
Mike - President 03-04 ... married.
Remily - President 04-05... married.
Buzz - President 05-06... married.
Zach - President 06-07... ????

Woh, that is quite the trend. AND at byu no less. What are the chances? [Emoticon not found]
I was thinking Chuck's bro would be a good candidate for "SKC President's Fan Club Secretary".
I believe the implication of the series was that they became engaged during or immediately following their presidency. Not everyone gets married at BYU. I certainly am not planning on it before I graduate in December.
It's true.
Mike - a little over a year after his term.
Remily - a couple months after her term.
Buzz - a couple months before the end of his term (aka - reign [Emoticon not found] )....
hrmmm..... to follow THAT pattern Zack will need to get engaged about Christmas, and the next president should get married about 2 months before his or her term.....
SpecialK:I believe the implication of the series was that they became engaged during or immediately following their presidency. Not everyone gets married at BYU. I certainly am not planning on it before I graduate in December.
I know you're not planning on it, but who's to say a cute li'l somebody isn't planning it for you. Could happen. I've heard of crazier things [Emoticon not found]
Well, since I have no idea who that would be, they would need to get the job done really fast, and even in the unlikely even of an engagement before the end of the semester, I have too much work to do in the way of passing my last classes to have a wedding before the last day of finals.
One word comes to mind: Priorities. [Emoticon not found]
Yep, like ULX. Com'on people, where are your priorities!!??
[Emoticon not found]
So how did the Drive go!???? Did alot of you sign up! The ULX is going to be great! [Emoticon not found] Those shirts are pretty hot too!
I think quite a few signed up, and although I agree completely on the topic of the shirts' coolness, I must protest vehemently that only certain styles are available to each sex. I would LOVE a thermal ULX shirt.
[Emoticon not found]
If you want I can talk to the comittee and the guy that is doing our shirts. If you want to commit to one I can see how much extra it will cost for just that thermal for a guy. Let me know I am in charge of the shirts!
I'll commit. just let me know how much it would cost- in fact, I remember several complaints at the drive about that. I think you would get more than just me....
[Emoticon not found]
Okay. Well I will see what I can do. At the meeting we didn't think that guys would want the thermals. But I will for sure look into it. Maybe even a long sleeve shirt would work too!??
I thought a long sleeve was already an option... [Emoticon not found]
We need shirts soon so we can do more advertising.
[Emoticon not found]
We need more people to register before we can buy shirts! FYI. We do have long sleeve shirts for guys. I was meaning maybe the guy that is doing our shirts will let me do one thermal for you or something. Trying to help. [Emoticon not found]

Woohooo ULX will have sledding and smores on Saturday.
hopefully there'll be snow this year... [Emoticon not found]
If getting snow in October is any indication.... [Emoticon not found]
There always has been snow for ULX...
"This entire mountain is covered in SNOW... do you realize what the street value of this mountain is?!?"
[Emoticon not found]
I love that non of you have commented on the horrible picture I made...
Sigh.....
popthestack:There always has been snow for ULX...
right. and that's why last year there was no snow in the city until saturday night/sunday morning when there was a blizzard. and i was driving in it.

i love that movie. we should watch it sometime.

Let's consider the context in which my statement was made! Then, we'll try to understand what I was saying, not what I wasn't saying.

I do realize that it was a little ambiguous saying that there was going to be sledding without any further details, but to immediately assume that this meant that we would be sledding in the valley ("in the city"[Emoticon not found] is kinda silly.
popthestack:There always has been snow for ULX...
This statement is completely true. For ULX, there has always been snow. We have not had anyone complain that they went skiing and there was no snow.
Now let us consider this statement from ulx.swingutah.com:
"If you don't want to ski or snowboard we're getting a big group together to go sledding high in the Wasatch Mountains! All you have to do is bring warm clothes and we'll do the rest."
[Emoticon not found]
Yup Yup... and we are going to have smores!!! Wooohoooo. So Ryan did you live my picture??? LOL.... (Jessa thinks that perhaps she is the only one that is laughing at the horrible 80's photo she found and updated)
Oh pues..

BY THE WAY: Everyone go post on Yehoodi in the ULX thread! Please! We want to keep it at the top!

I just went and looked... Thanks god someone laughed at that.... I am not a pro at the computer and it took me awhile to make that. LOL...
This exchange really will be fun. Oh PS I got Blimpie to sponsor us some foodies for the late night!!! Woot Woot...

well, since i don't ski or board, my comments make lots of sense. last year there was no snow in the "valley" for ulx. and i believe there were talks of going sledding in the "valley" in one of the parks, but there was no snow so it didn't happen. so there. [Emoticon not found]
