You probably shouldn't ask for that kind of thing on a public forum.
Actually G4L was pretty safe posting some registry information on the internet since M$ decided to stop putting the windows registration key in any user accessible part of the OS.
However there might be utilities on the internet which will retrieve your key from a running system, though I won't promise they will be safe for your system.
Now that I think about it, most computers have the key on a sticker attached to the computer. You could go to anybody's computer, turn it on the side to find the sticker, and copy the information off. Ol' Bruce might call that a security risk, though he isn't as heavy of a Macrosoft basher as I am. I know that many campus computers have the sticker, but use a generic campus key, leaving those numbers unused anyway.
This is all conjectural however. Don't infringe copyright*. That's bad. There is plenty of free software out there that you can run instead. Or you could pay money for an OS that should be outdated in a year and quickly abandoned to the hacker wolves in the name of greedy bloat, er.. . progess.
*I refuse to use the word steal as the supreme court has ruled that copyright infringement is not "stealing". It is infringement, no more and no less. Personal infringement should only receive civil liabilites with requisite compensatory fines. Even commercial infringement (i.e. selling pirated DVD's) should receive limited criminal prosecution. Even if Orrin Hatch thinks they should be able to blow up your computer.
i actually got it taken care of.. thanks guys. now i am having a hard time installing my video driver. it says that it is not found... i even tried this and got the same answer...start>control panel> administrative tools> computer managment> then device manager i dont know what to do. i have had this problem before but justin fixed it and he is gone so i need help. any suggestions?

lol, of course he was safe posting that. I figured ashes was asking for a registration code, not registry information... which is why G4L's post was funny.
I don't know ashes circumstances, why she was asking for the code. I just figure it's probably not the best thing to do to ask for it on a public forum. Hence my comment.
you are probaby right ryan. i was asking for a code. but i got a real one. so i am ok.
here are updates. i am trying to install windows and keep getting warnings that certian files are not being copied over. i looked up the files online (on my roommates computer) and they pertain to drivers and stuff. i dunno. help me guys i am about to throw away my computer it is too hard to deal with!
Make sure you throw it away outside of my house... I could use another server [Emoticon not found]
I've actually had that problem at work when I've reinstalled Windows on an existing system and it couldn't find the file. Google the file name and see what it says. Apparently the Windows installer is messed up and you're not the only one who's faced that problem.
they are files thet pertain to drivers.
hey guys i just wanted to let you all know that i fixed everything on my own. i am a pro at installing windows now and all the stuff that happens in the start up. so if you ever need hlep let me know! haha i just need to learn more of windows stuff now so i can fix things once my computer needs help then... ok thanks all!
