Hey all!
The Solomon and Noni workshop weekend is officially open for registration!!! Saturday, June 10th will be a Lindy Hop Intensive and Sunday, June 11th is the Blues Workshop (with a kick a** party afterwards). It's gonna be an amazing weekend!!! I hope you all can make it...really =). We only get Noni and Sol together once a year and its their only stop on the west coast, so you don't wanna miss this.
You can register for the Saturday workshop by going to www.midtownstomp.com/solnoni.html, or by mail with the registration form you can print off at http://solomondouglas.com/2006june10.pdf. If you are interested in signing up for the Sunday Blues workshop, email me ASAP since space is extremely limited (and even more limited then my first email) and is first come first served.
Here's the whole schedule:
Friday, June 9th (Cost: $10)
Live band night at Midtown Stomp
Saturday, June 10th (Cost $60 including Saturday evening dance)
9:30am-10:00am: Registration and Warm-Up
10:00am-11:15am: Lindy Hop Connection
Connection is the foundation of partner dancing. Developing a better connection with your partner will allow you to dance with less effort and be more creative. This class will give you ideas, exercises, and new ways to think about connection with your partner to have more fun dancing!
11:25am-12:40pm: Lindy Hop Fundamentals
Building on what we covered in the first class, we'll work intensely on some of the many exciting things that can happen in the Lindy Hop basic. This class will be suitable for intermediate and advanced students, and will also serve as an intensive Lindy Hop crash course for less-experienced dancers.
12:40pm-1:30pm: Lunch
1:30pm-2:45pm: Hecka Sweet Social Moves
Learn some really hot moves and the skills necessary to create them on the dance floor. This isn't just a class for leaders -- followers will learn how to embellish and amplify the energy of the lead while also putting their own ideas and personality into the movement.
2:55pm-4:10pm: Lindy Hop: Styling, Momentum, and Flow
Pick up some cool and fun styling options in this class while working on getting your Lindy Hop to flow musically from one movement to the next throughout each phrase of the song.
4:20pm-5:35pm Lindy Charleston
Charleston, just like the rest of Lindy Hop, is more about connection and movement than learned patterns and moves. In this exciting and high-energy class, you'll learn a bunch of cool Charleston ideas for use in your Lindy Hop.
9pm-1am: dance at the Capoeira Arts Studio
Sunday, June 11th (Cost: $30)
11am-6pm: All-day blues dancing workshop, specific class topics to be announced (which means there is time for input and suggestions)! This workshop is geared towards intermediate/advanced dancers (or those who are highly motivated).
8pm-???: Party at the Warehouse (And what would the weekend be without an all night party to wrap things up?)
Again, you can register for the Saturday workshop by mail using the registration form you can print off at http://solomondouglas.com/2006june10.pdf, and you can sign up for the Sunday Blues workshop by emailing me directly.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm Im not sure if I want to go to this workshop in sac or to the one Solomon is doing in denver on june first and 2nd I enjoyed the dancing in both places so much they had some way cool people. What is everyone else thinking denver is a little less of a drive and im sure we could find places to stay. but sac is not much more of a drive. [Emoticon not found]
Come to Sac. We miss you Utah folks. I only saw a few of you in Reno. Oh and there's not snow on the moutain (Not much anyways) so you don't have worry about chain controls. [Emoticon not found]

I talked to Scottie about it and he said it will be up this weekend. You can definitely paypal me the money at byuswingr@yahoo.com (as long as it isn't a credit card). Sorry about that...but, yes, we were just messing with you [Emoticon not found] .
You can now register at http://www.midtownstomp.com/solnoni.html. Its been up for a few days now but forgot to mention it. Thought I'd make it easier for you all to come if you wanted to come visit me or whatever [Emoticon not found] . Its gonna be a great weekend, like I said, so if any of you are feeling the need to take a spontaneous roadtrip this weekend, then I think you should!
