Notice that it's the urban dictionary which is based on random submissions and votes, so classist/racist/regionalist/sexist people can vote a bunch of times for the definition they like.
BTC appears to match the definition of a perscriptive grammarian.
haven't we had this discussion before? arguing over grammar/usage...
we have... which is why i find the roach's accusation amusing.
you see, i have no problem with the word y'all. i have a problem with misspelling the word y'all. just as i would disagree with ai'nt. that ain't the right way to spell it.
i feel that most grammar and so called "rules" are just conventions to facilitate communication. as long as breaking a rule doesn't interfere with communication, i have no problem with it.
i do, however, have a problem with poor spelling.
like "perscriptive" instead of "prescriptive"? [Emoticon not found]
[Emoticon not found] i didn't even notice that one

clarification: no direct accusations were meant on my part, merely a generalized accusation. i.e.
t_roach:SpecialK:Calling a cultural dialect bad grammar might be considered offensive.

ashes:well right now "you all" are in utah and so utah grammar must be used!
Yo yo, if "you guys" are going to use utah grammar, then "you guys" better stick to it. [Emoticon not found]
Don' be dissin' on U'ah grammar. Wha' was my poin' again? I forge'.
Okay, that's enough. I haven't been on the forum in a while and I get on and see a thread for blues lessons. I think "I'm interested in blues lessons" and I find nothing of the kind! Instead, I see instructional arguments over grammar.
Question: Are there any blues lessons?

I think the point of the thread was to discuss bringing in outside experts to give workshops.... I also seem to remember that it was put off till Fall.

Personally, I liked the grammar conversation more than the blues conversation. [Emoticon not found]
i think we sould stick to blues conversations.. afterall this column is not about grammar... we can make a grammar part on the forum if you wish!

so what is going on with blues lessons someone asked me about it and all I could tell them was the workshop is in the fall and some grammar rules
wasn't there some talk about wed lessons and dancing once upon a time
