Notice that it's the urban dictionary which is based on random submissions and votes, so classist/racist/regionalist/sexist people can vote a bunch of times for the definition they like.

BTC appears to match the definition of a perscriptive grammarian.

we have... which is why i find the roach's accusation amusing.

you see, i have no problem with the word y'all. i have a problem with misspelling the word y'all. just as i would disagree with ai'nt. that ain't the right way to spell it.

i feel that most grammar and so called "rules" are just conventions to facilitate communication. as long as breaking a rule doesn't interfere with communication, i have no problem with it.

i do, however, have a problem with poor spelling.

clarification: no direct accusations were meant on my part, merely a generalized accusation. i.e.

Calling a cultural dialect bad grammar might be considered offensive.

    More like bigoted.

Okay, that's enough. I haven't been on the forum in a while and I get on and see a thread for blues lessons. I think "I'm interested in blues lessons" and I find nothing of the kind! Instead, I see instructional arguments over grammar.

Question: Are there any blues lessons?

I think the point of the thread was to discuss bringing in outside experts to give workshops.... I also seem to remember that it was put off till Fall.

Personally, I liked the grammar conversation more than the blues conversation. [Emoticon not found]
