I expect to see all of you there: http://www.DownHomeBluesFestival.com
And if you're really hard core, you'll be in L.A. the weekend before for West End Blues. 6/23-6/26
Blast, I can't go. [Emoticon not found]
I might go... it'll depend on what I have going on right then....
popthestack:Blast, I can't go. [Emoticon not found]
I think you may have confused "can't" with "won't"? [Emoticon not found]
It's gonna be awesome! Yes, it is a major westie event, but check out the list of instructors! The best lindy hoppers in the US are gonna be there! Good times!

technicalities!
So, I made the mistake of posting about Reno Dance Sensation under Down Home Blues...nobody seems to have noticed...I don't think the best lindy hoppers in the world will be there...but there definitely will be some really cool ones there!
sounds like fun but we will see what my wallet has to say [Emoticon not found]
bump! (per a request, i promise)
oh. and west end blues has been moved to july 14-16
http://www.rhythmicarts.com/westendblues/about.html
just so you know.
I am 99% sure I am going to this barring any unforeseen monetary or academic problems...
sweet!
any other takers? Ryan? you know you want to. [Emoticon not found] (i saw you checking out the smelly blues room in denver.)
A) There was food downstairs in denver, where the blues room happened to be.
[Emoticon not found] The water downstairs, where the blues room happened to be, was more cold and had less of a line than the water upstairs.
C) I needed to talk to Virgil, who happened to be downstairs, where the blues room happened to be.
D) The men's bathroom was downstairs, where the blues room happened to be.
E) There was gatorade powder you could put in your water near the water downstairs, where the blues room happened to be.
You see, I was downstairs, but not checking out the blues. The blues just happened to be down there, where I was.
right
ryan doth protest too much, methinks...
Giselle was also djing downstairs

Word.... Giselle and Tina were rocking the house all weekend.
Yes, Giselle was DJing downstairs, but sadly the fast room stopped at 3 AM.
Protest too much? Nah, I could if you want me to though!
Yes protest!! protest!!

Haven't decided yet.
gumby:hey do you know if you are flying or driving out to frisco I think if I go I might fly but it depends on what kind of del I can find
Dude! You're getting a del!
hey i'll be there. i will be driving down from portland, then back to utah. so if anyone wants to fly out and drive back or something, i'll have room, but not a lot.
weneed more people to go to this. it will really be an eye opener (in a good way). it won't just be bad blues, but some amazing dancing.
SpecialK:gumby:hey do you know if you are flying or driving out to frisco I think if I go I might fly but it depends on what kind of del I can find
Dude! You're getting a del!
i got a del a couple of months ago. and today the power adapter kicked the bucket. i'll have to call them up and get another. boooo.
Boooooo. But on the other hand, the snob is right... we do need more people to go to this. Tara and I are driving down, the snob will be there, and I heard a rumor that Bob might be going too. Any other follows looking to learn some REAL blues?
i think i can host a couple of people, if necessary. (and by a couple, i really do mean 2-4, since my roomate might freak out if i have more than that. i don't want to try and outdo mike & emily at camp jitterbug) i do live about 45 minutes away from all of the venues, though. you'll probably want to try and get closer housing first.
Ok, for reals...who's coming? I just decided last night that I am going to this. Being broke really does suck but when I am so close how could i not really?
lindysauce:when I am so close how could i not really?
cuz it's blues?
haha okay I couldn't resist.
Back to your regularly scheduled topic...
To the people who are going to be in San Francisco tomorrow night:
Are you going dancing?
Tara and I aren't going to be in Frisco till about 3 or 4am friday morning...
well, fine. [Emoticon not found]
do you have a housing assignment yet?
and drive safe and things. whenever you go.
Yeah we're staying with a guy named scott bloom.
Welllllll... we got here ok, albeit at 4 in the morning pacific time. It was an ok drive, but Tara and I were pretty tired by the end of the night. We're headed to look for interesting ethnic food to eat for breakfast/lunch now before the workshops begin at 5.... whoo hoooo!
Well learn some new blues moves for me..
you'll have to take copious notes for me, as i'm not going to be up until the dance tonight.
have fun!
AAAMMMMAAAAZING DANCING this weekend! For those who didn't attend - you missed out!
Returned safe and sound... Thanks Down Home Blues for a killer weekend!
Tina rocked the wheels at Roots on Monday - honestly, the best set I've ever heard. Fantastic.
I'm going to sleep now... Much dancing + little sleep = great weekend [Emoticon not found]
definately.
Absolutely incredible weekend. Awesome classes and instructors, fantastic dancers, and superb dj's.... the dancing literally just got better and better over the weekend. Roots was unbelievable.
Thanks to all those who went, and big kudos to my navigator, co-pilot, and all-around partner-in-crime.... you helped make the weekend an experience I will never forget. Oh, and a big thanks to our awesome host Scott!
sway:Tina rocked the wheels at Roots on Monday - honestly, the best set I've ever heard. Fantastic.
Tina spins most weeks at Syndicate dances down here in Austin. She also has her own Blues party downtown every month, but so far I've been obligated to be other places all of those nights. Whatever happens this month, I'll just have to make them move it.
do whatever you've got to do to go, because it'll be worth it. Tina's awesome.
traci:do whatever you've got to do to go, because it'll be worth it. Tina's awesome.
Amen! ...and she's hilarious! So fun to be around.
amazing. the entire state of utah missed out (except virgil, thomas and tara, of course).
you should be ashamed of yourselves.
YA! Ashamed! [Emoticon not found] Oh, wait. You mean me. [Emoticon not found] [Emoticon not found]
It's really rather sad. It was that good...
Yeah... spare time is a little hard to come by right now.
ElChuy:It's really rather sad. It was that good...
oh no. it was better.
Buzzzzzzzzz:Yeah... spare time is a little hard to come by right now.
excuses... [Emoticon not found]

This coming from the man with a degree in both EE and bioinformatics who managed to work 20 hours a week and run SwingKids while heading up A team.
I just don't believe it, Buzz Lightyear can sneak an exchange in even with a wedding to attend to. [Emoticon not found]
