A jack and jill would be really cool... if we had enough decent follows. [Emoticon not found]
Maybe we should stick to a jack and jack for now.

california:Ladies, if a guy is choosing to dance with another guy instead of you, it's not because he didn't see you or because he's gay; it's because you comparatively suck and that's sad. Go home. Learn to dance. Come back. Clear enough?
I'd just like to stick up for my fellow female followers. Ladies, if anyone of you have been offended by this, don't listen to anything california has to say. Come, dance, play, have fun. I haven't seen him out dancing for awhile anyway.
sqemily:I'd just like to stick up for my fellow followers... Ladies if anyone of you have been offended...
see? that's exactly the kind of sexist attitude i'm talking about... teachers in lessons using "girls" and "follows" interchangably... assuming that one's gender automatically determines one's relationship in a dance partnership... all of this just serves to perpetuate the injustice and inequality we've fought so hard to prevent.
you people make me sick.
sorry, I apologize for my use of words. I corrected it.
Bwahaha.... I'm glad to see that my post did have the happy effect of resurrecting the topic. I didn't see these posts for a while because my bookmark was set to the view new posts page, and so when the site moved I never thought to click on the banner or go through the main site. heh.
As far as my complaint goes, a lot of guys have made my points and my responses to the criticisms for me. With all due respect, when I go to a dance, it is 99% for ME. I go so that I can enjoy myself and so I can have a good time dancing (this naturally includes making sure the other person is having a good time, because if she or he's having a good time, than so am I). If I choose to dance a song with a guy because I want to practice being a follow, or he wants to practice, or we want to practice switching roles, or even (heaven forbid) we actually enjoy dancing together, it's nobody else's <obscenity><obscenity> business. No one has a right to break up that simply because they don't like to see two guys dancing together, or because they feel male leads have a duty to dance with female follows, or whatever. I don't need to go on a "man-date" (and spencer, while I love ya this type of language is exactly why you got the response you did), or anything else. And if I decide not to dance with someone for whatever reason for whatever length of time, that is my business. It's not necessarily because all the unoccupied female follows suck or anything like that- I simply choose who I would like to dance each song with, and sometimes that person is male. As far as the other 1% of why I attend dances goes, that is basically where my interest in building the scene and fulfilling my responsibilities as a member of the club presidency lies. However, the bottom line is that I do this for fun- and if it's not fun for me, then I do something different.
whatever. you're obviously just an elitist snob with homosexual tendencies. and you think you know everything. jerk. [Emoticon not found]
You've pierced my elaborate fasod, traci... i can't hide anything from you.
victory is mine!
Word, Chuy.

So even your 1% is for your own happiness.
Fulfilling club responsibilities = better club = better dances = a better scene = more happiness.
It's all selfish. I don't think that's bad at all. I think it's great, although I prefer to call it enlightened self-interest.
As for Godwin's law. That's hilarious. But, my statement is still true. Force and coercion = tyranny.

Now ladies, who are you really going to listen to? Emily's not the one who dances with you... maybe you should start leading, Em. [Emoticon not found]

I just want to say that I have literally laughed out loud at least twice while catching up on this forum. (One time was due to this: [size[Emoticon not found]]P=(k^(1/n)) k<1 where P = the probablity of a reference to Hitler/Nazis, n = the number of posts, and k = a constant less than one depending on the subject of the post (k values for posts such as "Discuss WWII" will be much closer to 1 than the k value for a post labeled "Look at the cute doggies"[Emoticon not found].) Thank you all for providing some great entertainment.
If you guys help promote the idea, prez chuck was thinking about having challenges during club. I'm down. btw, Boog and I are rescheduling our charleston challenge at the skillit. When's it gonna be?! [Emoticon not found]

I do every once in awhile, my moves are very limited though. Plus, I only feel comfortable dancing with girls that I know (which isn't very many).
Holy crap.
Can I just say that I think this is the funniest thread on the whole forum. I am trying not to laugh out loud and my coworkers just keep giving me funny looks (I'm on lunch break)
Thanks to everybody for making me laugh (and getting me in trouble)
