Hey all, just wanted to post this up real quick. We are going to have a Blues dancing party this friday night (march 31st) at my house (Jared). I'm thinking of starting at 8:30, unless people think we should start earlier. If we want to turn this into more than just blues dancing, we can also BBQ and what not. If we want to BBQ, we may want to start a little earlier, though 8:30 is still fine. I will provide the music, dance floors, water, BBQ pit, pool table, dart board, movie theater, fire place, and well...the house, in addition to one lead (me). You will need to provide munchies, drinks, meat (though we might work out some complementary hot dogs, hamburgers, and chicken), leads and follows. well, ok, I'll be honest, I'll probably provide food and drinks, but it would be nice if people brought those things.

Also, I might try to get the hot tub fixed, but no promises at this point.

Address is: 3461 Tibble Fork Circle, Cedar Hills

    My cell is: 801.836.9573

    Directions from Provo/Orem:

Take State Street north to Pleasant Grove.

Turn right on 100 E (purple turtle is on the corner, as well as a credit union)

    Go 2.7 miles

Turn right onto Canyon Heights Drive

Turn right at the 4th street on the right, which is Tibble Fork Circle

    Directions from Salt Lake Valley:

    Take I-15 south.

Get off at the Alpine/Highland exit (first exit past point of the mountian).

Head East towards American Fork Canyon.

Go all the way to the mouth of the canyon and then turn right onto Canyon Road (I don't believe there is a street sign designating it as Canyon road, but just realise that it is right at the mouth of the canyon, 50 feet past this road is the canyon).

Take Canyon Rd to Canyone Heights Drive (this will be on the left, and you have past 2 churches on the left and one on the right).

Turn left onto Canyon Height Drive.

Turn right onto the fourth street on the right, which is Tibble fork Circle.

    Hope to see everyone there.

somehow i think that no matter when a blues party is scheduled, ryan will think up an excuse not to go.

just give in to the skanky blues, ryan. i know it's in you. [Emoticon not found]

The party will still be going on after skillet is done, so those determined to go to the skillet can come to the party after. It's been my experience though, that there are many people who don't go to the skillet for various reasons that will come to the party, and also it has been my experience that a high number of people are unwilling to go to a late night dance party after the skillet is done (or for that matter, after BYU, and on any other night than friday or saturday).

You're right... I will get married someday. It should be noted, however, that I'm in no hurry. My last date was over a year ago.

    Them stanky blues are scary!

the beaver clamp is annoying. especially so when you're not even trying to blues dance.

I've never heard of the randy leg.

or, in the case of randy leg, ensuring that a follow will avoid dancing with you for all time and eternity.

    Funny discussion/pic about it here

  7.

    very true.

ya know, i'll never turn down a dance. i may not dirty blues willingly, but sometimes the girl forces it upon me (until I can lead her away that is). I sure hope I've never done a randy leg. I am tall...

all the more reason to not blues dance. why take chances?

Blues music put me to sleep. I also get nervous if I have too much body contact with BYU's follows. [Emoticon not found]

    who?

there used to be a creepy 40-year-old man who frequently came to BYU's dances. the BYU Police had to ask him to leave after three too many complaints in one night. (the one time i can think it was actually nice to have guest services there)

and a few boys are borderline creepy when they're first learning how to dance and hide their inner nerd. but most of them master it quite well. [Emoticon not found]

For me (not so bad, but still caused me to sit in the recesses of the KMB to avoid him), he wouldn't talk at all, or look at me, and do the same thing over and over again, and then all of the sudden he looked at me, reached up and wiped some hair from my forehead. WAY too familiar for my tastes.

He grabbed some girl and made her dance with him after she said no, and then proceeded to hold her very close to him.

And I don't exactly remember what the other one was, but I think it involved inappropriate touching. [Emoticon not found]

After the police asked him to leave, he said "I guess I'm too old to be coming to these things anyway." Um, yes. Yes you are. (unless you learn to respect others' personal space)
