The Harvest Moon Lindy Hop Competition will begin promptly at 10, this competition is open to all amateur Lindy Hop dancers. Because we will be holding this competition in the Lindy Room and we will have limited space we will not allow more than 10 couples competing, so we will take the first ten couples only, for J&J only 16 individuals will be allowed.

To classify as an amateur you cannot have placed 2nd or better in a Lindy Hop competion in the past year. Judges may make sub category placements if needed. There will be 4 judges for this competition. Unfortunately no over the head Airlifts will be allowed so we can abide by the MAC's dance floor policy. Cash Prizes will be awarded for first place winners

There will be two categories

1. Open Lindy Hop

2. Jack & Jill

Open Lindy Hop

This competition will have 3 rounds, 1. All Skate, 2. Semi, 3. Finals.

Couples will dance to 1 song in the All Skate round, 2 songs for the Semi and Finals.

Criteria for this competition will be

Musicality.

Connection

Showmanship

You must also be able to incorporate the four basic aspects of the Lindy Hop while dancing, Swingout, Swing in, Charleston and Break Away Steps (Jazz Steps)

J&J

This competition will have 3 rounds, 1. All Skate, 2. Semi, 3. Finals.

Couples will dance to 1 song in the All Skate round, 2 songs for the Semi and Finals.

Individuals will be paired up at random, switching partners before each round begins until the final round. Individuals making it to the final round will dance with the same partner the for the final heat round

Criteria for this competition will be

You Can pre-register by sending me your info in a PM or you can register at the door. Reminder,we will not allow more than 10 couples competing, so we will only take the first ten couples to register, for J&J only 16 individuals will be allowed.. so my advice is to pre-register

There is no registration fee.. so this means Zip, 0, no dollars will be coming out of your pocket to enter this contest and you have a chance at winning some cash.. So c'mon already what are you all waiting for!!??
