Walking Carpet said it for me.

p.s. I'm not anti-bal though. I even had some private bal workshops with Tom&Bug.

No he's just wary about chest-to-chest contact at BYU.... [Emoticon not found]

i still maintain that there is no difference between chest-to-chest bal at byu or any other location. and that if you're going to be paranoid, you should be more paranoid about dancing with persons of the same gender as yourself.

in other words: you're weird. [Emoticon not found]

Not that there's a difference in the contact, just that it's a little more dangerous.... [Emoticon not found]

let's not do dance cards. they're just there to get the deacons and teachers doing something other than sitting against the wall scheming with their buddies and daring them to ask girls to dance.

i hope we've matured beyond that stage.

    or most of us.

Well, it looks like at the time we were not able to come to an agreement with Tommy and Bug to teach a Bal workshop. And if we do in the future with them, it definitely couldn't be free. It would probably be like $15 or $20 for a 5 hour workshop. What's the census on that?

yes! (if you say so, btc)

but seriously, I wouldn't want tommy and bug to not get paid what they're worth, so no to free, and YES to the above mentioned bargain!

why not ask someone to teach you the basics really quick during or before a dance? it's not that hard, and then you'd have something to practice with. or see if buzz or someone will do a couple of quick master's classes on bal basics (and do the come around second, since it's a little more difficult)

I know the basic, and Justin showed me a turn once that I have kind of forgotten, but that doesn't mean I feel like I know how to Bal. I hope Laurel can organize the workshop before Sacramento (and not during the OC exchange, hopefully).... then I would feel a little more enthusiastic about being able to Bal at the exchange...
