Ok, so I have just been informed that the BYU bereaucratic machinery has been hard at work. There is a new rule that states all activities must end 30 minutes before the building closes. Hence, all of our dances will now only be until 11pm.
Thank goodness for late nights.

gaaaaaaaay...
....this only makes my looking for a house with wood floors even more pressing..... must. have. late. night. venue.....
late nights?
Yes, that is where we dance late at night... hence the name late nights.
My parents house will be done soon. I mean it has a roof on it now, so we could do a late night there by spring term.
We need to find more 15 minute last song medley's [Emoticon not found] It was certainly nice of them to tell us in advance.
Hmmm... if the dances have to end a 1/2 hour early, we could always take our sweet time getting out of the building just to annoy the powers that be.
amen to that. sounds a little passive aggressive though
I don't know that there's anything that passive or aggressive about it... it's not like we can do anything about the policy anyway. It sounds to me like they're giving us an extra half-hour to leave the building, so let's enjoy every minute of it. [Emoticon not found]

Sounds exactly what passive aggression is to me. Passive aggression isn't passive or aggressive. It's passive and aggressive at the same time. Here is the DSM IV (the diagnostic manual for mental illnesses) definition of passive aggression: The individual deals with emotional conflict of internal or external stressors by indirectly and unassertively expressing agression towards others. There is a facade of overt compliance masking covert resistance, resentment, or hostility.
Basically, when you feel powerless to change a situation (we feel like we can't do anything about the new rule), you find a hidden way to fight back (taking our sweet time to leave the building).
I hope this doesn't come off too argumentative. I just wanted to explain what I meant by passive aggression and what I understand it to be.

wow. you pretend not to be a nerd, but it turns out that you're a psych dork.
I am a psych dork and a computer nerd... bwahaha.... so much nerdiness, so little time...
Actually the nerdiness is somewhat manifested in the current allocation of time.

as long as no one admits to being a "magic the gathering" or a "dungeons and dragons" nerd, i'm cool. [Emoticon not found]
I dated a dungeons and dragons guy (and he didn't just play he was the game master) but not for very long.

I never really thought that I was a psych dork. I think I've been in denial.
The DSM IV explains that denial is a coping style where the individual deals with emotional conflict of internal or external stressors by refusing to acknowledge some painful aspect of external reality or subjective experience that would be apparent to others. The term psychotic denial is used when there is gross impairment in reality testing. Oh no I really am a psych dork. I hope my denial isn't to a psychotic level. ![]()
I didn't realize you were actually referring to the technical psych. term... I thought you were using the term colloquially (kind of like when people use the term "antisocial" to mean intraverted--similarly, lay people often use the term "passive-aggressive" to refer to impulse control disorder or to describe a BPD outburst). So when you put it that way, yeah I guess; it is kinda psych. nerdy to point it out though...
I Actually bought a Magic The Gathering game on Xbox not knowing what it was and thinking it looked fun, worst waste of ten bucks i have ever spent!
they have that game for xbox? ![]()

I am in grad school to become a therapist. Does that make more sense now?

Oh well unpredictability is over rated. I can come to terms with this.
