No. Because there are no club dances right now.
Which is a real shame.
I'm tempted to contact Jan Sharman and ask her what else she expects students to do in Provo on a Saturday night in summer. Killing a constructive, socially and physically healthy regular activity on campus just encourages students to find less constructive and unhealthier recreation.
As for me, I'm eating ice cream right now. [Emoticon not found]
No need to cause a ruckus. This will pass. Be patient, young grasshopper.

Hey everybody! Carpool with us to M'Shimmy's party in Sugarhouse, SLC.
SpecialK:Which is a real shame.

As tempting as it seems, I think people should wait. BYUSA wanted a chance to "make things right" so give it to them.
If people need a 1 way trip to SLC tonight I'll be happy to oblige them, but I'm not coming back to Provorem till Zach and Holly's reception on Tuesday.
I'm worked up about limited SKC summer action since I learned a couple of summers ago on Saturday nights, and there are poor benighted people out there who will miss their chance to add the joys of swing to their life because BYUSSR has a stick up their. . . grrr. . .
When you snatch the pebble from my hand, young grasshopper...

The sun will soon rise again on the BYU Swing Kids Club. We await the dawning of a new day!!!
lol
"...whether it be me or you, the sun will rise for a GNU dawn!!"
Is there a dance at BYU on Sept 1?
I'll be in town.
Seeing as Fall semester won't quite have started yet, it'll probably be at the house, if anything.
when do you guys have your first dance for the fall?
Normally it's the Saturday after the first day of classes (Tuesday September 4). Normally though, there are so many people in town for the start of school the Saturday before (Sept 1) that there are TONS of people at any unofficial dance (at the house or on campus) The year I was president, that unofficial dance had like 150 people at it.
Unfortunately due to the current political climate, we aren't exactly ready to host an unofficial dance either.
Can we handle that big of a crowd at the house?? We would definitely need two DJs, 8-player mario kart / smash brothers, and ... valet parking [Emoticon not found]
sweet! you should totally get valet parking.
You volunteering?
i volunteer to have my car valet parked, yes.
I'd volunteer to make it happen, but I suspect no one would opt for it at the rates I'd charge. [Emoticon not found]
I'm with Sis on this one. I'll totally valet park your car... for a price.
I will be in town on Sept 15. Hopefully there will be something there.
There should be a dance.
BYU has their first Swing Kids dance tonight at the Wilkinson main ballroom.. Since nobody has posted any info on it I figured I would... its free so Everyone should come

Because your auora just makes concrete feel not-rock-hard? Please explain.
I have a top secret plan... it worked last year anyway.
Or you can just put some chromed leather on your shoes. That stuff's killer tough.
Don't forget a broom and a dustpan.
Wouldn't they just love to have someone come and slip later and go after the club.
I also recommend mixing yellow and a finer white.

no. no. no. we've specifically been told (by at least three people) that we can't put anything down. sorry. but no.
Can you try to let me know if we're going to have a dance before we run booth Friday?
Molte grazie.
You'll have to bring that up with BYUSA.
i didn't know we weren't until friday... i sent out the email as soon as i knew. sorry about that.
this week we're in the RB, 280/283.
How about I bring YOU!! up with BYUSA?!!
I thought YOU already DID!

Aww... you just sad cuz you don't get any Buzz luvin anymore huh?
I am! I am!!... oh the good ol' days of team and buzz
The powers :bob: that be inform me that getting a wood floor on campus this weekend promises to be more than usually tricky.
Now, it's hardly my place to say so, but if anybody has sweet scheduling hookups for, like, a stake center near campus, you may be able to pm bobthecow and save Christmas.
Or if somebody can schedule for their ward (usually clerks) or has a friend who owes them a favor, scheduling will usually give preferential treatment to stakes and wards.
Don't they charge stakes and wards rent for activities?
Hm... that one I don't know. But I have never heard of it before. That may be possible if it is not a BYU ward.
Buzz:Or if somebody can schedule for their ward (usually clerks) or has a friend who owes them a favor, scheduling will usually give preferential treatment to stakes and wards.
point == moot. it's not that scheduling won't give us one. there isn't a wood floor available on campus. all of them are scheduled. including the cougarettes practice room, apparently...
anyone got connections with a church?
If it comes down to it, I'm still a little sore about never having had a dance party at my old house. I could probably keep my sister from getting too mad if seven or eight of us were dancing over there. [Emoticon not found]
seven or eight... that's not too many, foehg [Emoticon not found]
anyone have any leads? i've exhausted everything i have.
I know it. If I were still living there, I'd say bring it on, and we'll cram as many as we can onto the living room floor. As it is, I'd prefer to keep it to a number that will actually fit.
Hmmm. Sounds like it's go-to-the-Skillet time tonight.
DANCING THIS WEEKEND IS ON!
we'll be at 1200 N 950 W, Orem UT. that's about 8 miles from campus (map), so i'd suggest arranging carpools, etc.
i'm assuming lessons at 7:ish, dancing from 8:00-11:00, but i'll have to confirm that.
thanks dan!
Here's the scenic route.
