there's a mod i considered installing that makes a second post just append itself to the post before.
a nastier version forbids a user from posting in a forum until someone else has posted something...
cuts down on thread bumping. and comment spam.

it's usually associated with the junk that bots and outsiders post on forums and blogs... most of the time it includes links to their pages or ad networks or something. that's why they invented those crazy CAPTCHA images (think goofy looking letters on a hard to read background)

I think ElChuy is the major offender here. He has gone from like 50 to 350 in about one week!
Too true.... I always checked the forum last semester, but never really posted (classic lurker-ness). However this semester I just decided to post all the things I said out loud to myself as I read the forum.... heh. The fact that I check the forum about 4 or 5 times a day does point to a slight addiction, I'll admit, but it gives me something to fill in the gaps in my day with. hehe [Emoticon not found]
