The Houston Swing Dance Society is proud to present our 15th Anniversary Lindyfest weekend workshop! Lindyfest is an intensive and fun lindy hop workshop weekend jammed with classes for all dance levels, soul sessions with living legends, hot performances and four endless nights of dancing. Lindyfest brings in hundreds of dancers from all across the globe to learn lindy hop from the masters and experience the excitement of Lindy Hop, all in Houston Texas.
Lindyfest 2011 instructors: Dawn Hampton, Chazz Young, Sylvia Sykes, Nick Williams, Naomi Uyama, Virginie Jensen, Steven Mitchell, Ryan Francois, Jenny Thomas, Skye Humphries, Frida Segerdahl, Max Pitruzzella, Annie Trudeau, Peter Strom, Ramona Staffeld, Kevin St Laurent and Jo Hoffberg!
Plus more surprises to come!Joining us for an encore performance is Jonathan Stout and his Campus Five, featuring Hilary Alexander for two blockbuster nights of swingin’ music!

Lindyfest is in ONE WEEK!!!!!!!!!!! Its almost here!!!!
If you're going you should definitely get all your ducks in a row by MARCH 7TH.
Lindyfest registration closes on March 7th and the hotel rate of $79/night is also extended until March 7th. The deadline for all this is when???? Thats right, March 7th. And furthermore its at midnight.
Do it. Do it now, you don't want to miss this amazing learning opportunity.
If you happen to miss this deadline don't worry, you can still register at the door for $170.There is also the choice of placement in the classes. If you want to do advanced or masters there will be two opportunities to try out for those class levels. Try-outs are jack and jill style complete with numbers and judges scoring you based on how you do. There are two try-out times: Friday at 10am and Saturday at 1:15 pm. If you make it in the first time thats all you need to do.
Good luck!Because there are so many awesome dancers coming to town this year we've got two shows of performances lined up. There will be a small instructor jam on Friday night at 10:15 and then the BIG BIG SHOW on Saturday night at 10:45 pm.
You can show up as early as Thursday for registration/Check-in. It will be located in the Magnolia Ballroom at the Sheraton Brookhollow and will be 12-2pm for the Thursday afternoon classes and re-open at 8pm later that night. We will be sending out your “boarding pass” that you can print and bring into speed up the check-in process or have your photo ID.
