What's wrong with my laptop screen? There's a bright spot on the screen, shaped like a line about a sixth of an inch long, with slightly bright area above it (brighter than the rest of the screen, but no where near as bright as the line). I don't think it meets the definition of stuck pixels, since it doesn't stay white on a black background -- it dims to the same amount of brighter-than-everything-around-it it was on the white screen.

But as I was reading it, I thought about Cheri's ring. Now she originally didn't want a diamond ring, but since Grandma left me one, and it just happened to work with the ring we designed, she got one anyway. I had always planned on getting a synthetic diamond because
(1) it's a diamond, just one that was grown instead of mined
(2) they are completely flawless (and thus really sparkly)
(3) they are much more environmentally friendly than mining natural diamonds
(4) they are orders of magnitude cheaper

So my question is this:
(Ladies) Do you want a diamond ring? Why or why not?
