We would like to invite you or your organization to have the
opportunity to participate in Provo*s 2008 WinterFest Christmas
Parade. This year the parade will be held on Saturday, December 6th at
10:00 a.m. This event has become a great family tradition, with
children and their families coming from all over the County to see the
festivities. It takes place in Historic Downtown Provo where Center
Street gives the parade a warm, small town feel.

The parade begins on 500 W. & Center Street, continues eastbound on
Center Street to 100 W. & Center Street and makes a right hand turn onto
University Avenue, continues for one block and makes the final turn onto
100 South back to the staging area.

You are requested to provide a hand out for the children along the
parade route. This may be a piece of wrapped candy, a business coupon,
or a small token from your organization such as a balloon, pencil, key
chain, toy, etc. The hand out may not be thrown from a moving vehicle
for safety reasons. Music required as a welcome addition to a parade,
and we encourage participants to use music on their entries in the form
of performers, instruments, radios, singers, etc.

Please use your best judgment when considering the use of animals in
our parade entry. The Westbound lane of Center street will be open to
oncoming cars.

Also, please ensure that there is only one Santa Claus in the parade by
not having him as part of your entry. Santa is provided by the Provo
Towne Center Mall and is the exciting conclusion to the parade.

If your organization would like to participate, please fill out both
sides of the enclosed entry form and mail it back no later than November
26th. If you have any questions please contact JaNel Grim at 852-6632.
Additional details of the parade will be sent after we receive your
entry form.

Special guest instructors Mike Lenneville and Emily Schelstrate will be imported from New York for six hours of dance instruction! Plus dances. And awesome.

The first lesson hour will be Friday night from 6 to 7pm in 5519 WSC-- Mike and Emily will be teaching the Big Apple. Afterwards we will carpool up to the Golden Skillet in Sandy, and dance there until midnight!

What is a "Girl Jam"? It is a workshop centered on the follow. We will be teaching all you will need to know to be a kick butt follow. We will address technique, styling, moves, etc. We will get you a class line up soon.

The Park City crowd is planning on bringing all their friends, family and pretty much everyone they know and they're hoping to see good dancers from all over.

come dance at the booth right next to the bookstore in the Wilk, Friday Feb 29 from 10am to 2:30pm. it's a ton of fun, it's a break from all your worries, and it helps promote the club. stop by whenever you have a minute. if you have more than a minute, come help us hand out fliers.

and be sure to pick up your $1 off Friday Night Live coupons. or print them from the internet. whatever works.

As for putting on a dance without many of the hardcore dancers in town, I don't see how it could be done. You need a room, a DJ, people to help with equipment, people to teach lessons, and enough people out on the floor to make less confident dancers feel a little more comfortable about trying to dance. If you're stuck in ptown and want to dance, volunteer to DJ and/or teach lessons. No guarantees that will get you the other required puzzle pieces of a scheduled room and BYU official presence, but it will make the schedulers job easier.

As for rooms, I really miss the KMB. Nice fresh air, reasonably good visibility, and great regularity of location make it a lot easier for people to come back. Aside from hiding in the middle of the SFH or the RB, are there any other options that we should be looking into?
