Hi, I'm visiting town soon: I get in to SLC airport at 8:24pm on Monday July 14th. My flight back home is 9 AM on Saturday July 19th.

Other than those two flights, I have at this point absolutely no plans. Where can I swing dance in northern Utah? Also, anyone have any leads on a couch or small patch of floor space where I could set up a sleeping bag for a night or two here and there?

Hey, this is Wayne. I am visiting from Denver, and I want to dance tonight. I can use a carpool from Salt Lake to Sandy area to BYU.

Let me know if anyone can help, I am flexible with time, and I am happy to pitch in for gas.

p.s. I am familar with Salt Lake Metro Area, and can meetup anyway from SL to Sandy.

A lady from Korea

G'morning, my name is Sage, some of you have met me, and many of you probably don't know me..

I came back to BYU after being gone to Korea for a while, where I got to learn Lindy.

Well, I happen to know the best Lindy hopper in Korea, who is also a great teacher,
and she is coming here to visit in April.

So, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in some kind of workshop.

Her name is Jeesun Lee, and she won 2005 ALHC Pro/am, took second in Adv. J&J, and took third in Classic division.
In 2006 NJC, she took 4th in Pro/am, and took 8th out of 80 follows in Adv. J&J.

She has taught various classes and workshops including Tokyo Swing Festival where she taught her unique follows styling, along with champion dancers.

Her favorite, or strong classes are classes related to the basic (connection, rhythm, triples.. she explains you how and why everything happens way it does), follows styling, and musicality.

Also, she teaches various levels of lindy, fast lindy, charleston, and solo charleston for follows as well.

I didn't attend everything, but here's a subjective two cents worth.

Friday night I caught a half hour. Loved it. Once I realized which part of the room to dance in to really hear the band well, I fell in love with the pianist, drummer and vocalist. Thrilling!

I was sadly only able to take Mike & Casey's classes, but they really rocked it out. I would've loved to have some more advanced concepts, but I loved their teaching methods, the dancing concepts they taught, the historical perspective that Mike brought, and the heartfelt love they have for all things swing. I felt Mike did a good job of not being snobbish about being focused on history. The theme seemed to be something like, Know your roots and keep it real. Dance because you love it and then show it. etc...

Major props to Justin, we should all offer to do his homework, chores, and fix his scooter for him. ::applause::

I got to dance with casey at SLE (actually at the russian on thursday), and it was fantastic.

If anybody remembers "The Place" before it was popular, sometimes we would end up with only 3 or 4 people and instead of dancing, we would talk technique and teach each other our favorite moves. I think that was one of the most helpful times in improving my dance. That's what this is going to be like. A bunch of people discussing about moves and technique that you have been thinking about lately.

We will be in (I will edit this later to put the room) at 1:00pm this Saturday. Hope to see a lot of you people there.
